Although COVID-19 has emphasized the strength of community and our collective response, it has also impacted our sense of connection with community. The Board of Trustees (BoT) is therefore developing communication strategies to ensure that the Wingra community is informed and connected. These communication efforts are twofold:
• First, how do we facilitate channels of communication between Wingra families, the Head of School, and the BoT?
• Second, how do we share the work Wingra is doing to become an equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist organization with the community at large?
This work falls under the purview of the Advancement Committee – one of the BoT’s standing committees tasked with advancing Wingra School’s mission. One goal of this committee is to develop a sustainable communications plan, which will include more frequent listening sessions between Wingra families and Board members, outreach efforts to the community, bi-yearly letters from the BoT, as well as a FAQ and other deliverables regarding the new tuition model. In fact, the Board Corner in the newsletter (which you are currently reading!) is one of several newly established touchpoints between Wingra families and the BoT.
