RTF Meeting Highlights from April 23, 2021
Reminders for our families
Teachers are noticing that some families aren’t following our commitments after school is dismissed (mixing of students across groups on the playground, being less than 6ft). One teacher reporting that the constant reminders to students to stay 6 ft apart is “exhausting” but necessary. A member of the RTF will check in with the teacher and with the students in that group.
The RTF will send a reminder email to all families. Their commitment to the protocols after school will help us be able to maintain onsite learning. RTF may call individual families too.
Update on Sky Movie Night
Date changed to Friday, April 30. Potential of ~18 students total. A member of the RTF reviewed the protocols with Sky teachers.
Update on Green Up Day
These will take place on 4 Thursdays in May, 3-4pm. Still deciding which groups
Follow up on Lunchroom usage this summer
Teatro ñ! has asked whether they can use our space this summer for meetings and rehearsal. It’s about 15 people. RTF discussed whether we can accommodate this, with New Morning, and with major roofing project. Will need Certificate of Liability Insurance from them. Will follow up.
What did we learn from the positive COVID case this week
Our layered mitigation strategies seem to be working. Grateful the family kept the student home while awaiting test results. Families had a number of questions about what constitutes a ‘close contact’, who needs to quarantine, who need to get tested, etc.
Public Health experiencing delays in reporting positive cases to schools. We are creating a new “close contact form” for classroom teachers to use that will also include which Classroom Assistants, All-School Classes, and substitute teachers were with the students.
Revisit air circulation
Looking into how long we can stay in the same room, and how long we need to vacate the room, to allow for new/fresh turnover of air. We will test out some C02 monitors.
